Water Heater upgraded to a modern tankless System for a Growing Family in Springfield, Virginia

C.D. Shanahan’s technicians initiated the project by removing the outdated 80 gallon tank and expertly installing a high performance 199,000 BTU Navien Tankless Water Heater. The installation was completed in 6 hours. However, the unit failed to operate optimally due to insufficient gas pressure. Despite initial assurances from the gas utility, Washington Gas, that everything was fine, our technicians stood firm. We performed dedicated pressure testing at the customer’s home to confirm the gas pressure was dropping too low, a problem that persisted for two to three weeks. Our technical expertise and persistence eventually convinced the utility, via a second dispatched subcontractor, to validate our findings and make the necessary pressure adjustments, allowing the new tankless system to function as designed.
