Our customers can expect safe, sustainable practices when we replace their older water heaters. Our procedures work to minimize our environmental footprint, as all older water heaters we replace are locally transported and recycled, reducing landfill waste and conserving natural resources like steel and copper.
Our certified HVAC technicians work to safely extract any remaining refrigerant from HVAC systems we replace. This is followed by recycling refrigerants at local EPA-certified facilities. This process for proper recycling by our team ensures refrigerants are reclaimed, purified, and reused rather than released into the atmosphere.

They installed a mini-split system for me which made my 2-season room into a 4-season room!! Very grateful! Even better, there was an issue later on where the caulk around the entry point of the AC line deteriorated and let a little water in, they came out right away and fixed the issue without any charge to me, standing behind their work. For the second time in just over a year, they have come to our rescue. Around this same time last year, our 33 year old heating and air conditioning systems were beginning to fail. I reached out to three companies for quotes on replacing both units. My son had recently replaced his systems and strongly recommended C.D. Shanahan’s. Not only did they beat every other price, but they also performed a comprehensive evaluation and provided a detailed breakdown of three options—best, cheaper, and cheapest—so we could make an informed decision. Nearly a year later, we started experiencing strange issues. In mid January, during some of the coldest temperatures this area has seen in decades, our home wouldn’t warm above 67 degrees for three days. Then, just as mysteriously, everything returned to normal. The same thing happened again last week, and again it self corrected after three days. I called C.D. Shanahan’s, and they sent out Brandon Luttrell. This guy was outstanding—friendly, respectful, and extremely knowledgeable. He arrived with several diagnostic tools, including one that measured the pressure in our natural gas line and another that measured the temperature inside the ductwork. Within a short time, he identified two issues and taught me something I had never known about furnace filters: the MERV rating. I had always bought filters randomly, not realizing how much the MERV rating affects airflow. Brandon explained that anything above a MERV 8 can restrict airflow too much for many systems. To prove it, he attached his thermometer to the furnace vent with my MERV 11 filter installed. The temperature shot up to 132 degrees in under a minute. When he removed the filter, it quickly dropped to 117 degrees—exactly where it should be. That overheating was causing the furnace to shut itself off repeatedly during those cold spells. Brandon also discovered a second issue that completely transformed our furnace’s performance. The system had been factory set to Stage One, which pushes air at the lowest pressure. He recommended switching it to Stage Two, and the difference was incredible. We now set the thermostat to 72, and within 10 minutes the furnace cycles off because the house has already reached the set temperature. It feels like a brand new system. Thank you, Brandon, and thank you to everyone at C.D. Shanahan’s. You truly ROCK. P.S. Check the side of your furnace filters for the MERV rating. Stick with MERV 8—your furnace will run better, and your electric and gas bills will thank you.Posted on Sue BrennanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
